This category features adverts for historic rally cars, including the legendary Group B machines. Introduced in 1982 as a replacement for Group 4, Group B is often referred to as the “Golden Era of Rallying.” These cars had minimal restrictions, with weight kept as low as possible and virtually no limits on engine boost. As a result, power outputs doubled from around 250 hp to more than 500 hp by 1986.

The combination of extreme power and lightweight chassis created spectacular, high-speed rallies that drew enormous crowds. However, the lack of crowd control and the incredible performance of the cars also led to several fatal accidents, most notably the 1986 Tour de Corse crash that claimed the lives of Henri Toivonen and Sergio Cresto in a Lancia Delta S4. Following this tragedy, Group B was immediately banned, and Group A became the standard until the introduction of modern WRC regulations in 1997.
