The top level of Le Mans Prototype (LMP) race cars, the LMP1 or now known as Hypercars, are race cars that can compete in FIA World Endurance Championship and Grand Touring Prototype (GTP) class of the IMSA SportsCar Championship.
The Le Mans Hypercar regulations were made by ACO and FIA as a successor to the LMP1 regulations, starting from season 2021 onwards.
Cars are required to match several rules in regards to length, width, frontal area and engine, which can produce a maximum power output of 500kW (670hp), while the car weight should be no less than 1030kg. Cars can also utilise an energy recovery hybrid system.
There are several manufacturers competing in these class like Toyota, Peugeot and Ferrari with protoypes attending races like 24 hours of Le Mans, 1000 miles of Sebring and other 6,12 or 24 hour race series.
This category includes some of previously used LMP1 prototypes for sale, ready for a return to the track or to be included in a valuable collection.
