An authentic works-prepared Toyota Celica GT-Four ST165, chassis TC-416 represents a rare surviving example of Toyota Team Europe’s early Group A programme. Retaining its original competition registration K-AM 9444, the car was campaigned at the highest level of international rallying and entrusted to some of the era’s most accomplished factory drivers, including Armin Schwarz, Juha Kankkunen and Carlos Sainz Sr.. Its period record includes two World Championship appearances and multiple front-running results, notably a 5th overall at the 1990 Monte-Carlo Rally, alongside further top-tier finishes in international competition. Comprehensive period documentation accompanies the car, supporting its provenance.
In its current form, TC-416 has been meticulously restored to correct Group A specification, utilising original components supplied by Toyota Team Europe. Completed in 2021, the rebuild reflects a considered approach to authenticity and usability, with the car presented in full competition-ready condition. It is equipped with asphalt suspension, a valid FIA-specification fuel cell, and safety equipment homologated through 2027. The car is further accompanied by both FIA and FFSA Historic Technical Passports.
Post-restoration, the car has seen selective historic rally use in 2022–2023, campaigned in Belgium and northern France by owner-driver Abdelouahab Benali, and previously by Louis Vandenborre, including participation in the Ypres Historic ...
Rally. For these outings, it competed under registration NO S 064.
