Over the years, Ford developed numerous sporty versions – Twin Cam, Mexico, RS1600, and then RS2000 – which served as the foundation for the legendary Group 2 and Group 4 Escorts. At the hands of drivers such as Roger Clark, Hannu Mikkola, Timo Mäkinen, Björn Waldegård, or Ari Vatanen, the Escort built an exceptional track record and contributed significantly to writing some of the finest pages in rally history.

More than fifty years after its debut, the Escort Mk1 remains one of the most sought-after historic cars. Its user-friendliness, reliability, abundant parts availability, and immense sporting potential continue to make it a safe bet for both enthusiasts and competitors alike.

Built on a 1974 Ford Escort Mk1 base, this particular example is prepared to historic Group 2 Escort ... specifications. It is equipped with a 1,975 cc 16-valve Ford BDG engine, mated to a five-speed ZF gearbox and an Atlas rear axle. Developing approximately 235 hp, the engine underwent a complete rebuild by Andes Motorsport in early 2025 and has covered only about 100 kilometers since.

The car comes with a RACB National Technical Passport (PTN), its technical logbook, and a complete administrative file. It is currently configured for Belgian national historic competitions. It began competing in 2019, taking part in several Belgian events at the hands of its owner. Its most recent appearance was at the 2025 Legend Boucles @ Bastogne, where it was driven by Bastien Rouard.
