2001 saw the Lancer Evolution WRC evolve to Step2 with the famous 4G63 engine which had its intercooler, exhaust manifold, single-scroll turbo, crankshaft, flywheel and lighter internals changed, giving 300 horsepower and 540 Nm at 5500 rpms coupled to an INVECS 6-speed sequential gearbox. The transmission is 4-wheel drive with electronic front, center and rear differentials.
This unit is chassis #16 of 6 produced in the 2001-02 season, having been Ralliart's development and test car between 2001 and 2003.
It raced in the German WRC round in 2003 by the hand of Jani Paasonen, having been rebuilt in 2014 and repainted in 2022. All original documents including gold FIA passport.
